Ningxia Wolfberry
The Ningxia wolfberry (Lycium barbarum L) is a member of the solanaceae family (nightshade).
There are over 80 different Lycium species wordwide, with only 10 of these exist in China. These include 7 species, 3 varieties and 35 cultivars that are found throughout Northern China.
The most highly esteemed for its medicinal and healing properties is the Lycium barbarum L and Lycium Chinense Miller. The rest are considered inferior or second rate. Only three species of Lycium berry,

Independent test done by Brunswick Laboratories (co-developers of the ORAC assay) show that Berry Young Juice (Ningia Red) has more than 2 times the ORAC value of the next highest product tested Xango, closely followed by Tahitian Noni and Himalayan Goji.
ORAC (Oxigen Radical Absorbance Capacity) measures the ability of a substance to absorb, or quench the peroxyl radical, one of the most important reactive oxygen species in the human body.
