Passive Infrared detectors (PIR) measure the infrared light (elecromagnetic radiation) which includes most of the thermal radiation emitted by objects at or near room temperature, within their field of vision. When a person enterss a monitored area and passes between an infrared source (e.g. furniture) and the infrared detector, the device detects the change in infrared energy (higher temperature) emitted by that person. The intruder's movements cause a hot spot on the chip of the device which, put simply, triggers the alarm.
Wide coverage: They can detect movement up to 12 metres
Movement detectors are ideal for hallways and areas containing important valuables.
Can be installed in conjunction with other intrusion detection devices such as: contact alarm switches, glass break detectors and invisible beam detectors.
