It is also the perfect base from which to explore the natural treasures of World Heritage-listed Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks as well as the Tiwi Islands.
Kakadu National Park, the largest in Australia, is situated 250 kilometres from Darwin on the Arnhem Highway. Renowned internationally for its natural and cultural wonders, Kakadu has one of the highest concentrated areas of Aboriginal rock art sites in the world.
Further south, the Katherine region is a vast network of rivers, escarpments and gorges that weave through sprawling plains of cattle stations, national parks and reserves.
