What is Jive by Night?
"Jive by Night" is both a Dance Class and a Social Night.
Each night involves both Lessons and Social Dancing (Free Style) as follows....
1.) 45 Minute - Lesson
2.) 30 Minute - Social Dancing
3.) 45 Minute - Lesson
4.) 1-3 Hours - Social Dancing
What style of dance do you teach?
We teach a style of dance called Modern and Nightclub Jive. With very little footwork and the focus more on the moves you can do while you dance it's one of the easiest and most useable styles of dances around. It's even a great start if you want to move onto other dance styles later.
Do I need a dance partner?
You are welcome to come along by yourself or with another person. We rotate partners every few minutes so you can meet everyone in the room before Social Dancing begins. By rotating and dancing with everyone you'll learn to dancemuch quicker and with the help of some of the Advanced Dancers (who also rotate) they'll help you with your moves as you go.
How long will it take to "freestyle" in public?
Modern Jive is the simplest easiest form of dance that you can learn all you need to be able to do is walk to a beat (which we teach you). By the end of the 1st Lesson you'll be able to "freestyle", 3 to 4 moves and by the end of the 2nd Lesson you'll know around 5 to 6 moves.
