We all have an aura of some colour and description whilst alive. There are also a variety of shapes and levels of strength in an auric field. A strong aura will sometimes overshadow the person’s face with a colour. Sometimes this indicated a strong spiritual presence, a good healthy energy, having a great enthusiasm for what they are doing, or In some cases this can indicate strong activity in the area of life related to the colour. They may also not be in control of their own energy or may also be relying too much on other people’s opinions or energy, or too forceful with their own. Sometimes a particular colour will dominate because the area of life that colour governs takes up a large part of their life. Sometimes it is because the person feels an extreme need for that quality in their life or that they seek that quality in others. Thus a dominant colour could present to attract other people who have that quality or who will bring out the quality sought. Sometimes people can in effect be sending out unconscious and unwanted signals through their thoughts and emotions which then affect their auric colours. Some clients ask why others see them in the wrong light or context, when often people simply and unconsciously reacted to their energy through these signals.

It is wise to send out clearer signals, achieved by being clear in who you are. The first maxim of spiritual development of course being “Know thyself”. Aura Photography I used to work at festivals with my aunt who had a biofeedback camera. While the camera could interpret the spiritual energy layer, not photograph the actual aura, this camera produced an electronic interpretation of what we as psychics saw surrounding people. Natural therapists often used it at festivals to take “before” and “after” photos of their clients. The Aura photos were used by them to show beneficial differences with "before" and "after" aura photos and prints that many products, supplements, energised water, crystals, music, aromas, magnets, biofeedback, Feng Shui , Reiki sessions had on the Spiritual Aura of their clients and also on themselves. At the time my aunt was one of only a small number of licensed groups offering aura photography, after which an explosion of different types of cameras became available. If aura photography interests you, biofeedback cameras are still widely available these days. You will generally find one at most large new age fairs. Make sure that the pictures shown ’feel right’ before having your photo taken as there are a few brands of biofeedback camera on the market, in varying quality. From experience I generally recommend the “Aura Camera 6000,” and also the interactive and WinAura computer programs. To see auras you really need to practise and once proficient, keep using the skill. Like in muscle and strength training, if you don’t use skills you build upon, they are lost. My practise at aura perception was gained through using the camera with my aunt and by winning many hide and seek games with my father when I was a child.

As a child I would find my father by following my ‘nose’ and then seeing his energy field surrounding the chair he would be hiding behind or seeing his energy in a room that he was hiding in. I could see all the colours and tell him what they meant without really understanding why or how. Knowledge about how I came to the interpretations regards the colours came along much, much later.

Tips and methods to see auras yourself:-
*
Work with a friend who is also interested in seeing auras.
*Create a circle of light to work within, as you should always work in a protected space.
*Place the person whose aura you wish to see in front of a plain, light or white background.
*A white sheet will do if you do not have white wall because coloured walls can make for misrepresentations.
*Only one of you should be looking at the aura of the other at any one time.
*Trying to each look at the other’s aura at the same time can create an energy crossed reading much like crossed wires on a phone.
*Look at the person, taking in all of the aspects of their face first.
*Laughing and making faces at each other will obviously distract, so try meditating beforehand.
*Once you have taken in all of the person’s features and REALLY looked at them.
*Observe their features closely, then start to look around them and observe their silhouette, letting their other features become fuzzy.
*Close your eyes and see if you can see their silhouette in front of you.
*Open and close your eyes gently a few times.
*When opening your eyes, half open them in a deeper meditative state.
*Slow down and focus.
*You may see a clear blur around them at first.
*Before you really start perceiving you may also see a lemon yellow or possibly a blue instead.
*The more you allow, without ‘trying’ just going with the flow, the more that different colours will start to appear.
*Acknowledge what you see, and give thanks to your guides for helping you.
*If you do not have someone to try this exercise with doing the exercise while sitting, looking in a mirror.
*It is also a good idea to look at plants and trees in the distance, some people find seeing the initial blur around them easier.
*Once you have honed the ability to perceive the blur, colours will be seen more easily.

Some people will perceive the aura through feeling or knowing rather than ’seeing it.’ In these case they can ask what colour it ‘feels’ like, asking questions like whether it is a warming or cooling colour for example. There are times where you will perceive a range of things happening in the aura, like different shaped auras, different levels of density or strength in the aura, and also prominence of some colours while other colours will not been perceived. Also while a person’s aura might have particular colour themes today, it may change over time. I also used to find it interesting while sitting in corporate board rooms, just how much people’s auras would mingle, change colour, shape or character, their auras would even grow larger or smaller depending on what had transpired.

Sometimes people’s auras will appear weaker, or stronger, larger some seem to be reaching out, some smaller and more contained. Sometimes we saw photos with pockets of one colour, and even auras that seemed vaporous, with pockets of nothingness. But the photos were showing the spiritual auric level and not the whole aura. As far as I knew there were no “holes or cracks” in the aura, as some psychics suggest, because the aura has many layers which if all were really penetrated I would have to wonder how it is that the person would be alive. I remember once hearing about a psychic who refused to get on a plane when she saw people with no auras getting on board. According to legend the plane went down with no survivors. I also remember being taught that when a woman is about to become pregnant her aura will generally double in size at least six weeks prior to conception. Anecdotes like this may go towards explaining what people sometimes perceive when they look at auras as far as auric strength or weakness goes.

Meaning of colour and correlation between modalities:-
Aura Soma colour therapy– a self selection based colour therapy and soul care system based from plant, crystal, gem and energy — see yellow as often attributed to the subjects of joy, humour, empowerment, fun, and abundance.

The polarities of these qualities also exist in the colour. In spiritual groups, the solar plexus chakra is often perceived as yellow.
The spleen is the organ that the solar plexus is perceived to be governed by.

Yellow is also perceived as spleen and pancreas in Chinese medicine. Urinary function also has obvious links to the colour yellow– so yellow can be a matter of a battle of wills and great annoyance as well- being "pissed off." The sun’s warmth is contained in the colour yellow, and so when a person’s spiritual auric level presents as entirely yellow, there will be displays in the way they talk and their entire story as to which way yellow is travelling through their life. It may be that they are putting forward the message “I am happy” when the opposite polarity –grief, depression, or the need to transmute experience may be the real case in point.

People sometimes put up the message of “I am happy” in order to keep the status quo, to hide what lies beneath. Thus an entirely yellow aura can be quite misleading if you are only looking at the surface level. Digging deeper - the real story is found. Alternatively, an yellow aura may mean the person just had some amazingly good and fortunate news– is about to, or came into a whole load of cash. Or, they might need to ease up on the booze! With time, patience and practise, you will be able to tell which is which.

Below is a list of aura colours and some of their meanings.
Balls of light in aura: These can be particularly open chakras, or even guiding or angelic presences.
Balls of darkness in aura: Anger, injury, or energy bound up in aura. Past experience not yet released.Reiki, Aura Soma, cupping and acupuncture are particularly helpful in releasing blocked or stuck energy.
Red: Base Chakra, earthy, grounding, alive, vital, anger, passion, issues of material wealth, physical activity, fire.
Coral: Community, healing family issues Orange: Sacral Chakra, creativity, reproductive system, enjoyment, sexuality, bliss, deep joy.
Yellow: Solar Plexus, joy, study, learning, issues of mental clarity, power, fear, judgement, caring, warmth, earth.
Mustard: Manipulation, confusion.
Olive: Bitterness, peace, extending the olive branch.
Green: Heart, balance, truth, healing, growth, compassion, love, the space to think clearly, forests and wood.
Turquoise: Media, public speaking, publishing, speaking from the heart, unshed tears.
Blue: Throat, authenticity, communication, peace, "the blues," self expression, self judgement, hearing, water.
Indigo/Purples: Third eye, spirituality, visions, guidance, transformation, grief, transmutation, spirit guides, validation or invalidation.
White: Crown chakra, I am, connectedness, light and shadow, the understanding of suffering. In Chinese Medicine White relates to the element of metal. Magenta/Fuschia:Healing, connection with higher planes, enjoying the little things.
Pink: Love...The giving or the taking. Can at times represent passive aggressive behaviour. Other times it can be simply a loving person.
Black: The pillar of form, saturn, earth, dormancy, structure, disease or deep despair. In Chinese medicine, it relates to the kidneys– filtering good from bad- as well as issues around fear and letting go. Can present in the aura as a blockage or injury to one layer. As there are many layers, these repairs themselves quite readily with care.
Brown: Tobacco, deeply held grudges. Issues about acceptance.
Grey: Often associated with disease, morality issues, and deep sadness. Can present as a grey, spotted haze.

Auric Shapes
Balls of colour in the aura can relate to spirits, angels, guides, as well as attitudes and emotions being experienced. A lop sided aura will relate to them not being quite "in the body" or balanced about an issue, they may be experiencing physiological imbalances. Anger expressed can appear like lightning bolts shooting out from the person as they shout. Love can be a merging of two auras. There are many shapes an aura wll take at times and also auras will change as people interact with each other. Some people give a lot of enrgy and others take, making watching the auras of two people arguing very interesting. The aura of the one who "wins"seems to grow largerwhile the aura of the one who loses reduces significantly. People who channel energy for healing however will have larger auras and will be empowered and enlightened without having to resort to arguements to feel good about themselves.

Your aura is made stronger by:-
*Exercise,
*sunlight,
*fresh air,
*eating more often in smaller amounts,
*meditation,
*healing, whether by plant based therapies, energy healingor crystals
*pure essential oils,
*baths with Epsom salts and essential oils,
*Aura Soma colour therapy,
*positive thinking and habits,
*regular cleansing,
*sufficient sleep,
*grounding yourself before and after psychic activity,
*proper psychic activity.
*surrounding yourself with positive people - not allowing toxic or negative people in your space.

There are many resources on the subject that I would recommend such as :- Hands of light by Barbara Ann Brennan, Aura Soma Source book by Mike Booth, and Carol Mc Knight, and How to see and read the human aura by Ted Andrews.

Aura perception and portrayal is something I also offer in my own training courses. Feel free to get in touch to learn more.
