In addition to the regular flu vaccine, we are also offering the new next generation of influenza vaccine technology. The new needles are ten times smaller and are especially suitable for those that fear or hate injections. It is now available.
INTANZA 9µg (influenza vaccine split virion, inactivated), the worlds first has been made available for intradermal influenza vaccine for the prevention of seasonal influenza in adults has been made available for the 2012 influenza season.
Intanza claims to be the first intradermal influenza vaccine to take full advantage of the immune role of the dermis (skin). Intradermal influenza vaccine is designed to provide an opportunity for healthcare professionals to inform healthy adults about the benefits of influenza vaccination, and help improve coverage rates.
Clinical trials have shown that because Intanza is an intradermal vaccine, a smaller dose (0.1mL vs. 0.5mL) and less antigen (9µg vs. 15µg) will produce an equivalent immune response to traditional intramuscular vaccination.
Intanza has been designed to exploit the skin’s immune potential by ensuring antigen is accurately and consistently deposited in the dermis, where a high concentration of dendritic cells helps stimulate an immune response.
Intanza has a similar safety profile to intramuscular vaccines. Only for those clients between the ages of 18 and 59.
