Food Imagineering, trading as The Original Australian Barbecue Food Company, has for more than 10 years been associated with the US market with sales of BBQ sauces, marinades, dressings and mustards. With the tremendous growth and interest in barbecue within the United States, the biggest increase has been in California where the climate is conducive to barbecue approximately nine months of the year.
Food Imagineering consistently receives communications by email and fax congratulating the company on the quality of products and enquiring where to buy more. The purpose of opening an office in the San Francisco is to service this market as well as explore new areas whilst growing the business. Ultimately, we anticipate exporting to the rest of the world from this office, at the same time working with contracted co-packers and eventually employing local labour.
In addition to our barbecue range, another range of Australian products including dressings, marinades and rubs which we are constantly developing and improving, would complement any North American dinner table throughout the entire year.
During the early – mid 80’s the company won many awards for its outstanding barbecue sauces and mustards. In addition to these awards, we were honoured to be on the NBC 'Today" Show, live from Memphis and interviewed by Willard Scott. This was a 5 minute segment and shown by satellite throughout the world, discussing BBQ. These previous successes have made it clear that the US and Canadian markets are looking for the difference we provide. Our products reflect the great flavours and the varied cuisine of Australia.
