In all states and territories, there is legislation that requires the Safety Measures are maintained to ensure they will operate when called upon in an emergency.
Testing and Maintenance Standard which applies is the Australian Standard AS1851 - Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems & Equipment. From 2005.
