Earth Greetings are dedicated to sustainable design. We are aware that our forests and waterways are at stake, and therefore consider our impact on the Earth in every step of production.
The biggest single threat to forests is their conversion into pulp and paper. When we destroy forests, we also destroy the homes of many native animal and plant species. 25% of the world’s carbon emissions are due to the destruction of forests and bushland. We need forests to absorb carbon dioxide to combat global warming.
Earth Greetings print on 100% post-consumer recycled paper because it has a much smaller environmental footprint than paper manufactured from raw materials. It uses less trees, water and energy and reduces landfill and pollution.
Traditional mineral oil ink and alcohol used in the printing process contribute to unhealthy fumes and greenhouse gasses. Earth Greetings print using vegetable based ink in an alcohol free and chemically reduced process.
We print locally in , reducing carbon emmissions from transportation. Both ourselves and our printer offset our carbon emmissions through the Carbon Neutral tree planting program.
Our greeting cards come with 100% post-consumer recycled envelopes and we use minimal biodegradable and recycled cardboard packaging.
Our Christmas cards, greeting cards, gift cards, bookmarks and wrapping papers also feature gorgeous nature inspired designs, and people love to give them!
We are pleased to support our favourite environmental charities through our greeting card . Our “Peace On Earth” Christmas card packs support Trees For Life who through our donation plant a tree for every pack sold!
We are also supporting The Wilderness Society’s campaign to save the Murray River Red Gum trees through sales of our Colouring-in-Card packs.
