The reason we developed this approach is that there is an abundance of hair extensions available in Australia that are just sold as ":hair Extensions"... If only it were that simple. The sad reality of it all is that most of these suppliers themselves have no clue what they are selling - usually Asian hair made to feel like European or Indian Hair.
Asian hair is thick and course and is therefore not a good match for finer euopean or westen hair . to overcome this the hair is treated with acid to strip layers of the hair to make the size appear similar to our own hair. The problem with this being that the cuticle or protective outer layer of the hair (mimics tiny scales under a microscope) is detroyed or completely remove leaving the hair lifeless, brittle, dull , dry, tangly and pretty much unusuable.. The hair is then dyed using material dye (material dye is less damaging) which due to the lack of cuticle will not adhere to the hair strnds properly . BUT yet again another solution is imposed - the hair extensions are then coated in silicon which miraculously appears to breath life once again into lifeless hair and prevent the colour fading.
Then the hair is p[ackaged, shipped off in a pretty package and sold to the unaware under a variety of different names - some have the audacity to label it "European", "Indian" , " virgin Remy temple or even Russian hair extensions".
The hair extensions are then put in someones Hair, they will be beside themselves with their fantastic new look and all is well. ................
Unfortunately, like all other forms of human biological matter hair has to be washed. Thats when the bad part begins. The lovely soft silicon coating washes down the plug hole along with the water and you are left with the dull, dry, lifeless, brittle hair which fades almost before your eyes. Often you will be lucky enough to get 3 washes under you belt before the silicon layers are completely depleted.
So please please please avoid the horror and Avoid hair which has a unknown origin, ambiguous labelling or any Asian hair that has been treated. Ask... Ask... Ask... and then ask more questions about the hair to be sure you know its origins.
