Degussa construction chemicals division is a global group of companies focussing on the development, manufacture and supply of chemicals and cementitious products for the construction industry. MBT Australia is the Australian arm of this division formed by the merger of SKW-MBT with Degussa in January 2000. Degussa construction chemicals is now the largest construction chemical company with annual turnover in excess of AUD$3 billion. Internationally, Degussa construction chemicals employs over 6500 people in 40 countries. The business activities of MBT are channelled through regional organisations in Europe, North America, Japan and Asia Pacific. Core competencies are in concrete technology, flooring products using applied epoxy and urethane polymer technology, repair and refurbishment of concrete structures and underground construction.
