The company started in Perth, Western Australia in 1988 and the objective was to provide a new experience in eating chicken. The theme was a proven Mediterranean taste enjoyed by people who appreciates unique food.
The recipes included twenty over types of spices and marinated overnight for the mouth watering experience. Roasting the chicken also requires great skill to ensure optimal result. Novalinia Willy-Liew who runs the operation is a good cook by herself specializes in improvising the recipes and improves the taste and varieties of the food
Besides the delicious roast and Portuguese chicken, there are also signature dishes like the must have Briyani rice cooked like no other, the Lamb and Chicken kebab, creamy potato, and eight different types of salads. We serve many different burgers such as fish, schnitzel, fillet chicken. In addition, we also serve calamari, fish and chips and seafood basket.
The Master Franchise was acquired by Mr. Ronnie Liew, himself a food lover and environmentalist who believe this great food must be shared by others besides the good citizens of Perth and taking care of our earth.
With this mission in mind, Charcoal Chicken Express is now spreading its wings not only to other states in Australia but world wide.

Here at Charcoal Chicken Express, we choose to care without having to compromise the quality of our food and hope to serve you better in a more environmentally friendly manner to save the earth. The chicken is cooked in a environmentally friendly manner by using gas on the chicken rotisserie machine and the taste is identical to the charcoal machine using charcoal. It emits less black fumes to the environment and it serves to be a much cleaner environment inside and outside the restaurant. In view of contributing to a clean and green environment, we now cook our chicken on gas griller. After countless trials the end result is the same great flavor as cooking on charcoal.
