The Security Awareness Course has been developed to address the requirements for all seafarers to participate in security-related duties onboard regulated vessel as outlined within the STCW Manila amendments. After , all seafarers seeking new certificates or revalidating existing certificates are required to complete security awareness training.
The training will include security-related familiarisation in reporting a security incident, including a piracy or armed robbery threat or attack; the procedures to follow when a security threat is identified and security-related emergency and contingency procedures.
