About Building Adjudication Victoria
Building Adjudication Victoria ("BAV") is a nominating Authority under the Building Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 ("the Act").
BAV has been authorisd by the Building Commission since 2004.
Its primary role is to nominate Adjudicators when it receives an adjudication application under the Act.
The Act provides a quick and relatively straightforward method for contractors to obtain payment for construction work and related goods and services carried out under a construction contract (which does not have to be in writing) and which is recognized by the Act. .
BAV does not charge a nomination fee.
BAV is able to answer queries regarding the operation of the Act. However BAV does not give legal advice.
