About Blue Suede Shoes Dance School
Blue Suede Shoes officially opened in 1992 by the founder Anna Ocello. The Studio was opened in the Blacktown district firstly teaching RocknRoll and Social Ballroom Latin classes. Specialising back then in childrens classes and competitions. Anna has been teaching since 1990 and opened the studio with the design to provide fun, encouraging and enthusiastic classes for all students. Anna's background initially was ballroom and latin until late 1991 when the rocknroll movement through the Australian RocknRoll Dancesport Council took her interest.
In 1996 the studio took another direction through Anna's passion and love of the 40's and got involved with the dance craze Swing/Lindy Hop. The influence of workshops by Frankie Manning, Steven Mitchell, Rhythm Hot Shots, Marcus Barbl and more has helped keep the dance alive and now Anna and the partnership of her son Justin DiPaola as brought much interest and success to the studio with this style as well as the RocknRoll. dedicated to providing friendly staff with the most up to date syllabus in your chosen style and polished performances for our audiences and spectators when demonstrating in public.
All teaching staff are highly qualified, having performed and studied in the appropriate area of dance style and continue to study in their chosen fields. We offer dance tuition, performance classes, medal examinations, competition coaching and dancers for corporate and sporting events. Our social ballroom and latin classes still continue to be popular and successful with television shows such as "Dancing with the Stars" and "You think you can dance". The art of dance is promoting fun and fitness in a contact sport. It is great for all ages teaching confidence, co-ordination and communication. For some people this may be the only sport activity or hobby where they can communicate and be active.
The latest edition to the studio is our DANCEFIT section incorporating Get Fit Classes Mambocise. Proving to be very popular, incorporating stretching,aerobic yoga/pilates techniques with dance steps exercise to music.
