  Dairy distributor Murray Goulburn now gives its mobile salesforce instant online access to its product catalogue so they can provide customers with up-to-the-minute information on inventory, stock, pricing and the latest product specifications.  

Bizcaps Software and Zebra Direction collaborated to develop the solution that exploits utilisation of an existing asset.  

Using the Bizcaps Enterprise MDM middleware system to synchronise data across multiple platforms and, web marketing gurus Zebra Direction have developed a marketing portal for the Murray Goulburn group which accesses multiple databases to deliver the most current stock, pricing, product details and artwork for each of the 300-plus items in the product catalogue.  

Zebra Direction MD Frederic Couturier worked with Bizcaps to help Murray Goulburn to develop an online product manual, which allows the sales reps to generate Product Information Sheets which can be printed in PDF format and left with the customer.  

“Information about stock and pricing is sourced from the company’s SAP system, while catalogue details come from the Bizcaps catalogue, and the data is merged into the MDM tool with marketing information like features and even images,” says Frederic.  

“Merging images and artwork on the fly allows sales staff to create a product flyer for each presentation that is up to date each time,” Frederic adds.  

“Before this, they would ring the junior marketing person to get the mass-produced flyers and they might have to cross out details manually to update it,” he says.  

“This has reduced the double-handling of information, there’s no wastage – and the sales staff have access 24/7, so if they get a late call, they can put a presentation together really quickly – they can even print it out at midnight if they need to!”  

Other clients also use Bizcaps Enterprise MDM to synchronise artwork, product details, pricing and stock for their web catalogues.
