Barwon Park, built in 1871 for Thomas and Elizabeth Austin is a majestic 42 room bluestone mansion and stables set in a sweeping rural landscape.
Extended opening hours for the Surf Coast's Number One rural tourist attraction: Barwon Park Mansion will open every Wednesday and Sunday from 11am - 4pm during the year and every Saturday during January and February (excluding 17 February 2011).
This majestic 42-room bluestone mansion and stables is largely in its original condition, resonating with the glory of Victoria's pastoral heritage.
The property has been owned by only two families, the Austins and the Batsons, and was left to the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) by Sydney Batson. It is gradually being restored and has benefitted from the outstanding efforts of the Barwon Park Promoters and local volunteers over more than 30 years.
