THE ORIGINAL WHEELIE TANK! ORDER YOURS TODAY! This is a practical and affordable solution to rain water harvesting. Don’t let the rain from your roof go down the drain. Keep it, because it’s yours! Connect the unit to one down pipe from an obscure corner of your house. Better still get more than one for additional down pipes or daisy chain two together! This unit acts as both a water storage and as a water diverter. When the tank becomes full, provided you have a standard garden hose attached to one or both of the top hose outlets, the excess is diverted direct to your lawn or garden bed then save the rest for later! Connect your high pressure washer to the tank and wash the car with YOUR water or just do what you like with it! (Be reasonable though, don’t just waste it!) Why not connect it to a continuous drip feed system for your Garden! You can even use it to save more than 60lt of water a DAY that an evaporative air conditioner dumps down the drain! Tank bodies are brand new Nylex brand and have quality UV resistant fittings, and single lever brass ball valve tap! Note: Useable water is about 230lt due to position of top and bottom outlet fittings. Some simple custom positions for fittings can be provided on your tank if required. If you intend to permanently position your Wheelie Tank: Consider the position of your downpipe so it can be easily directed to the main inlets position.Consider the position of the main overflow pipe so that it can be easily directed to the gully trap or ground level position where your downpipe is removed. Consider the position of the bottom tap so it is both easy to get to and operate and also not sticking out in the way of a main thoroughfare at the same time. Please choose carefully as your choices can not be changed once production has started! There are twelve* Wheelie Tank colours to choose from to complement the existing colours of your eaves, brickwork or guttering. Burgundy is the most popular colour as it is a very close match for the ever popular Heritage Red! Grey is actually much darker than it looks above, it is more of a washed out black colour! * Colours subject to production run availability. HAVE YOU GOT AN EVAPORATIVE AIR CONDITIONER? A roof mounted evaporative air conditioner system is very cheap to run in comparison to refrigerated system but they waste a lot of water! Most modern evaporative air conditioners will have a pre-start wash cycle and end of day flush and clean cycles. These cycles flush the filter pads with clean water and then dump the water down the drain! Some will also dump all the water in the airconditioners tank every five or so hours when the system is in continual use. The system shown in the picture will dump over 60lt of water down the drain in a 24hr period! It’s probably a fair bet that when your system was installed, the drain outlet simply had a short length of pipe attached to it which directed the dumped water out onto your roof where it simply went down the drain! Why not use a Wheelie Tank to collect it for the garden? All you need is PVC pipe and an assortment of varying elbow connectors which are all available from your local plumbing supplies or hardware store. These pictures give you a general idea of how it’s done. Alternatively, you can direct the pipe into the downpipe that you position your Wheelie Tank under to save having PVC pipe running down your wall. Note: Water dumped from an evaporative air conditioner may look clean but will contain dust, pollen particles and other toxins filtered from the air. The flushed water is completely safe to use on the garden, washing the car, windows etc but not for clothes or body washing and must not be ingested or used for cooking. Water Restrictions and Safety Safety Warning! 1. Ensure that the lid remains locked at all times to prevent access by small children. The Wheelie Tank is provided with a galvanised chain and padlock. It is your responsibility to keep it locked for safety! 2. Do not allow anyone to climb onto or stand on the tank or lid. The lid is not designed to withstand being stood on or jumped on. 3. Do not attempt to move the tank whilst it has water in it! The combined weight of the 240Ltr wheelie Tank full of water is over 255kg (over a quarter of a ton!) A tank that appears to only have a small amount of water level with the bottom tap will still weigh over 30kg and any movement action will cause a sloshing “wave” effect and possibly cause the tank to tip over and cause injury.Engage the help of two people to assist with laying down an empty tank (where there is still water below the bottom tap!) if cleaning is required. If there is water above the bottom tap level it should be drained first. 4. If the tank is to be situated directly on soil then a concrete paver will be required as a footing! Tanks smaller than 4500 ltr are generally exempt from planning approval unless attached to a house with heritage significance. Check with you council for their specific regulations prior to installing your wheelie tank. Tanks less than 2000 lt capacity do not attract any water rebate! A 2000lt tank only gives you a $150.00 rebate if it is installed by licensed plumber but it will more than likely cost your more than $150.00 for a plumber to do it! How unfair is that! Tanks should be examined for accumulation of sludge every two to three years. TRIVIA In a 100-year period, a water molecule spends 98 years in the ocean, 20 months as ice, about 2 weeks in lakes and rivers, and less than a week in the atmosphere.Frozen water is 9% lighter than water, which is why ice floats on water. Less than 1% of the water supply on earth can be used as drinking water. A small drip from a faucet can waste as much as 75 litres of water a day. Bottled water can be up to 1000 times more expensive than tap water and it may not be as safe! It takes 7,000 litres (1,850 gallons) of water to refine one barrel of crude oil. It takes 5,680 litres (1,500 gallons) of water to process one barrel of beer.
