Beat Water Restrictions... By recycling the grey water from your washing machine the Grey Water Gator helps you water your garden without breaking water restrictions! You Don't Need to Wait for Rain... Because it uses recycled water you don't need to wait for it to rain before you can start using your Gator. The Gator is specifically designed to pump the cold waste water discharged from your washing machine onto your garden. The pump is quality selected and tested and comes with a 12 month replacement warranty. Components are colour coded to meet with water recycling regulations. Save your garden... Garden's can be worth thousands of dollars. Don't let this money go down the drain with your unused grey water. A Grey Water Gator can operate... * Low pressure sprinklers or drippers * Hand held watering * Filling watering cans * Inline drip tube up to 100m. The average Australian household generates approximately 500-600 litres of wastewater each day. This amount will vary greatly according to the number of occupants, their age and lifestyle. Roughly 60% of this water can be recycled and with a Greywater Gator you can recycle about 34% of that amount. That's roughly 135 litres EVERY day that can go towards keeping your garden alive during the harsh summer months. Saves your washing machine... Other Grey Water diverters can increase the wear and tear on your washing machine because they don't have their own pump. The Grey Water Gator comes with it's own pump so there's no added strain on your washing machine. Saves your time... The Grey Water Gator holds more water than any other grey water recycling unit on the market and can even be connected to a drip irrigation system or a low pressure sprinkler. Once you have it set up you don't even need to be there to water your garden. Saves your back... Physio's and Chiropracters are reporting an increase to the number of injuries caused by people carting buckets of grey water out on to their gardens. With the Grey Water Gator there is no more carting buckets of water. A Grey Water Gator pumps the water to where you need it most. It also has a drain and is on wheels so you can move it easily once you have emptied it. Check out the reasons why you need a Grey Water Gator Here. Installation We recommend that you have your Grey Water Gator installed by a licensed or registered Plumber. The Gator is specifically designed to pump the cold waste water discharged from your washing machine onto your garden. We recommend installing the Gator OUTSIDE near a suitable drain. It is mandatory that the power circuit to the Gator is protected by a residual current circuit breaker. Connecting Your Gator 1. Position your Gator above ground level on an even surface. 2. Remove the Gator's lid by undoing the screws. Take out the black lilac hoses from inside the Gator. 3. Make sure the pump is in the correct position. For 240 Litre Gators there is a special slot in the base of the pump which fits over the locating pegs in the bottom of the unit. Check that the pump is in this position. (Pump will not twist or move when correctly located.) 4. Check that the lead of the pump is fitted through the special Gator grommet and take the excess lead through to the outside of the Gator to your power source. 5. Check the location of the pump float switch. It must be clipped in to the recessed area in the pump handle with no less than 100mm of lead to the float from the pump. 6. Check the hose fittings in the Gator are secure as they may have become loose in transit. 7. Take the inlet hose (25mm black x 4m) supplied with the Gator and connect the Nut Tail end to the inlet of the Gator. 8. Take the other end of the Gator inlet hose and connect it to the end of your washing machine discharge hose. (It may be possible to connect directly to the discharge of your washing machine by removing the hose on your machine altogether) We have supplied a short piece of flexible 25mm tubing and hose clamps for this. This tubing will fit most washing machine hoses on the market. However if your hose is a different size there is a special adaptor available either from the store where you purchased your Gator, or your local hardware or plumbing supplies store. Please note: It is important not to restrict the flow of water from the washing machine into the Gator. Any restriction to flow here will void the warranty and may cause your washing machine to fail 9. Make sure all the connections are secure and the hose clamps provided are firm. 10. Take the special lilac Gator hose provided and connect the Nut Tail to the Outlet fitting marked on the Gator, making sure the hose isn't kinked or restricted. The longer the discharge hose the lower the flow from the unit. If you are connecting to a drip system or using some other irrigation device you must ensure that you don't restrict the out flow to the point that the Gator will overflow. Under normal operating conditions the Gator will discharge at approximately 20 litres per minute. It is entirely up to the operator or installer to check these conditions. 11. Replace the Gator's lid and secure the screws. Your Gator is now ready to use. Operating your Gator Download the Gator Operating Instructions in PDF Format Here. The Grey Water Gator is designed to be operated by an adult. Please keep children away from the unit at all times. Always use environmentally friendly laundry detergents or powders when operating your Gator. For more information on the best detergents to use when recycling with grey water please visit the Lanfax Laboratories website. Only move your Gator when empty. The Gator is fitted with a special type of pump specifically designed to handle this type of grey water. The Gator pump starts and stops automatically via the float switch. As the Gator fills up the float switch floats up and then automatically starts the pump. As the level goes down the float automatically switches the pump off. The float must be able to move freely to avoid dry running the pump. Do not operate the unit DRY as this will void the warranty. It is possible to extend the 20mm discharge hose of the Gator up to a Maximum of 50 metres provided you use 20mm Gator hose andit is on level ground. Do not use click type fitting to join the hoses as they are too restrictive for this type of operation. Full flow fittings must be used. Your Gator is designed for: * Low pressure sprinklers or drippers * Hand held watering * Filling watering cans * Inline drip tube up to 100m. If you are using inline drip tube a suitable filter must be fitted on the outlet side of the Gator. This will prevent the drippers from becoming blocked with any lint etc. that may come out of your washing machine.
