scene for your Mountain getaway in the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park. We
cater for all travellers, whether you are a solo guest, couple, family or a
special interest group looking to get away for some fresh air and beautiful
alpine scenery.
The 'New Look' Alpenhorn offers a friendly atmosphere and great value holidays
for which it is renowned. Located in Buckwong Place, Alpenhorn Lodge is 300
metres from the heart of Thredbo, with all its' shops, cafes, bars and
restaurants. In winter, a free shuttle bus service operates 40 metres from our
front door to take you to both the major ski lift access points.
Our guest lounges offer a place to relax with a good book or magazine, while
our two balconies and large terrace area (complete with BBQ) offer the perfect
afternoon suntrap, overlooking the slopes of the mountain.
There are secure ski lockers and mountain bike storage, a heated drying room
for ski boots and clothing. (We also offer luggage storage if you arrive early
or want to depart late).
If skiing or snowboarding is not your thing, you can time your visit for
Christmas, New Years or Easter, or one of the many special events and festivals
that Thredbo has on offer over the summer months, such as Jazz or Blues.
In summer, A 9 hole PGA rated golf course, Australia's best downhill mountain
biking, leisure centre with indoor heated 25m & 50m pool and waterslide,
fully equipped gymnasium, indoor basketball courts, squash courts, rock
climbing wall & tennis courts are available. Try you hand at fly fishing,
bobsledding or catch a tourist ride up the chairlift to access some of the best
hike's you'll find in Australia's high country, the most popular being the trek
to our highest mountain peak, Mt Kosciuszko.
Rooms are 'hotel' style, offering simple, clean comfort with private ensuite,
hair dryers, bar fridge, clock radio, tea & coffee making facilities and
flat screen LCD TV's, making them warm and cosy retreats at the end of a great
day.
